On Friday whilst out for my morning walk, I realised I had looked at my social media ten times in the space of 30 minutes. Oops!
I was arguing with myself, that it was ok, as I use social media for my business, but really this was just an excuse - I was social surfing.
It got me wondering just how many times I check Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram during my day.
If I checked ten times in 30 minutes, that's a potentially a crazy 320 times in a whole day!
It's official; I'm addicted to social media!
I asked my Blossoms in my Love, Life, Blossom and Bloom group what their social media usage was like too.
Quite a few agreed, they spent far too much time checking different platforms.
I promised to come up with a challenge, and here it is; the 7-Day Social Media Detox challenge.
Now, I don't want to shoot myself in the foot here (as my business is mainly marketed on social media) but this challenge aims to reduce the amount of time spent on media (while still engaging regularly with me lol), not a complete detox.
I am hoping the challenge I have created will help make you more productive and positive throughout your week.
I am going to swap social media surfing for personal development study instead, to help grow my business.
I turned my phone off for most of yesterday as I went to the beach with the kids and friends and by the end of the day, I felt more peaceful and calm, which has got to be a good thing right?
You can start this challenge whenever you want, just pick the day you are on. I would love to know how you get on with it though.
