Two whole hours where nobody needs anything from you
2-Hour Stress Buster | £167 | Alderley Edge, Cheshire
When was the last time you had two whole hours to yourself?
No work emails. No washing to put on. No endless to-do list running through your head. And nobody asking you what's for dinner.
Just two hours when you don't have to do anything for anybody else.
Sounds rather lovely, doesn't it?
My Stress Buster is an extended wellbeing experience combining Reiki, chakra balancing and Hopi ear candling.
I've created it for those times when you'd love to get away from everything for a little longer, put your feet up and let somebody else look after you.
And here's something I feel quite strongly about.
You don't have to be stressed to deserve a break.
You can book because life feels overwhelming, because you've been looking after everybody else, or simply because you'd love a couple of uninterrupted hours to yourself.
That's reason enough.
What is the Stress Buster Experience?
The Stress Buster brings together three complementary wellbeing treatments in one extended appointment:
Reiki, for an opportunity to rest, receive energy healing and enjoy some peaceful time.
Chakra Balancing, working with the seven main energy centres recognised in traditional energy healing.
Hopi Ear Candling, a traditional complementary practice offered as an optional part of this experience.
We'll also have time to talk about how you're feeling, discuss what you'd like from the appointment and make sure you're comfortable.
Each part of the experience reflects a different aspect of my practice, developed through around 20 years of working with Reiki and complementary wellbeing treatments.
And while there is a structure to the appointment, I don't believe everybody should have exactly the same experience.
I'll take your needs, preferences and comfort into account.
What happens during your two-hour Stress Buster?
1. First, we have a little chat
When you arrive, we'll sit down and talk about how you're feeling.
Perhaps you've had a particularly busy few weeks.
Perhaps you're juggling family, work or caring responsibilities.
Or perhaps everything is going rather well, and you simply fancy some time to yourself.
You don't need to justify being there.
I'll explain the treatments, ask about anything that might affect your comfort or suitability, and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
You can tell me as much or as little as you wish.
Anything personal you share is treated with discretion and confidentiality, subject to applicable legal and safeguarding responsibilities.
And if there's a particular part of the experience you're unsure about, we'll talk it through before we begin.
2. Reiki - Time to be looked after
Reiki is a Japanese spiritual energy-healing practice based on the traditional understanding of universal life force energy.
I'm a Reiki Master, and I see myself as a channel for Reiki energy rather than the person doing the healing to you.
During your treatment, you'll remain fully clothed and relax on my heated treatment bed.
I'll ask whether you prefer hands-on or hands-off Reiki, and you're welcome to change your mind at any point.
I work intuitively, using my Reiki training and the observations I've developed through years of practice.
Some people describe warmth or tingling during Reiki. Others notice colours, images or a feeling of floating.
And some fall fast asleep.
In fact, I always tell my clients that if they snore, I take it as a compliment!
You don't have to concentrate on anything or make something happen.
Just get comfortable and let me do all the work.
3. Chakra Balancing - Reconnecting with your energy
Chakras are traditionally understood as energy centres associated with different aspects of our physical, emotional and spiritual experiences.
The seven main chakras run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
Within my spiritual practice, I work with these energy centres to encourage a sense of harmony and balance.
I may focus on particular chakras based on our conversation and what I perceive intuitively.
You don't need to know anything about chakras beforehand.
I'll happily explain what I'm doing and share any observations afterwards.
And you don't have to believe in every aspect of energy healing to enjoy taking some time for yourself.
4. Hopi Ear Candling - An additional wellbeing ritual
The Stress Buster also includes the option of Hopi ear candling, a traditional complementary practice I've offered for many years.
Ear candling involves positioning a hollow candle at the entrance of the ear while the opposite end is lit.
It's important to understand that ear candling hasn't been shown to remove earwax, clear the sinuses or treat medical ear conditions. The procedure also carries risks, including burns and injuries to the ear.
I'll explain what it involves and discuss its suitability before you decide whether you'd like to include it.
You don't have to have ear candling if you don't want to.
If you'd prefer not to include it, we can discuss an alternative way to use that part of your appointment for relaxation.
Your comfort and informed choice are always more important than following a treatment routine simply because it's on the menu.
The treatment room is part of the experience
I think about the little details because I know how much difference they can make.
My treatment room at One Inner Beauty Studio has underfloor heating, a heated treatment bed, beautiful blankets, soft lighting and a large floral mural.
I've even climbed onto the bed myself to check what clients see when they're lying there.
I want to know whether the lighting is comfortable, whether the bed feels lovely and whether everything is as welcoming as possible.
I'll ask whether you're warm enough, whether you'd like a pillow beneath your knees and whether you're comfortable with the music.
I'm autistic and ADHD myself, so I understand that different people can have very different sensory preferences.
If something isn't comfortable, please tell me.
You can move, ask questions or request an adjustment at any point.
This is your time.
Who is the Stress Buster for?
You might enjoy this experience if you're someone who:
Spends much of their time looking after everybody else.
Would love a longer appointment rather than a standard Reiki session.
Is curious about experiencing several complementary wellbeing practices together.
Wants some uninterrupted time away from work, family responsibilities and everyday demands.
Enjoys Reiki and would like to explore chakra balancing as well.
Simply fancies two hours in a warm, cosy room where somebody else is doing the looking after.
And remember, you don't need to arrive at breaking point.
You don't need to be completely exhausted.
You don't need to earn the right to rest.
Sometimes doing something lovely for yourself is reason enough.
What happens at the end?
I don't like finishing a treatment and immediately sending somebody on their way.
I've experienced that myself, and it left me feeling a little disappointed.
So I always like to make time to talk about what I've experienced during the Reiki and chakra balancing.
That might include colours, patterns, images, intuitive impressions or areas where I've sensed energetic imbalances.
I'll share my observations before asking what you've experienced, because I don't want your answers influencing mine.
And I don't attach my own story to everything I perceive.
I'll tell you what I've seen or felt, and you can decide whether it means anything to you.
These are personal spiritual observations, not medical assessments.
YOUR ORACLE CARD
I finish my treatments by pulling an oracle card.
And after all these years, it still amazes me how often the card seems to reflect what we've been talking about.
It's freaky!
You're very welcome to photograph your card if you'd like to remember it.
LOOKING AFTER YOURSELF AFTERWARDS
Before you leave, I'll talk you through my Reiki aftercare recommendations.
These come from my Reiki training and the traditional understanding of energetic cleansing and integration.
I recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol afterwards and giving yourself some time to rest.
I may also share a meditation, breathing exercise or another simple wellbeing practice you can try at home.
My aim is for you to leave feeling looked after, with something useful to take away from the experience.
Why I believe in making time for yourself before you reach burnout
This is something I've become increasingly passionate about.
We seem to have developed a habit of waiting until we're absolutely exhausted before deciding we need to look after ourselves.
We tell ourselves we'll have a rest when work gets quieter.
When the children need us less.
When we've caught up with everything.
But when does that ever happen?
I've been there myself.
I've experienced what it's like to spend so much time looking after everybody else that you don't even think about yourself.
And that's one of the reasons I believe so strongly in preventative wellbeing.
Making time for yourself shouldn't be something you only do when everything has become too much.
Sometimes, putting two hours in the diary purely for yourself is a lovely place to start.
You don't have to solve all your problems during those two hours.
You don't have to make any important decisions.
You can just enjoy being looked after.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the Stress Buster?
The appointment lasts two hours and includes time for consultation, Reiki, chakra balancing and the optional Hopi ear candling element.
How much does it cost?
The two-hour Stress Buster costs £167, payable when booking. Please check the booking terms and cancellation policy before confirming your appointment.
Is this the same as your 90-minute Reiki Experience?

Yes. We'll discuss what it involves and whether you would like it included. If not, we can talk about using that part of your appointment for additional relaxation.
Do I have to take my clothes off?
You remain fully clothed for Reiki and chakra balancing. I'll explain any practical preparations for the other elements before we begin.
Can I choose hands-on or hands-off Reiki?
Absolutely. Your preference and consent are always respected.
What if I fall asleep?
I'll take that as a compliment! You don't have to stay awake or follow everything that's happening.
