A Love Letter to Cacao
Cacao isn’t just a drink—it’s a sacred ritual, a heart-opening medicine, and a doorway to connection.
For me, cacao has become so much more than a Sunday treat; it’s a cherished moment of stillness, reflection, and love. Whether shared in a ceremony guided by a wise teacher or simply enjoyed in an intimate breakfast ritual with my daughters, every cup carries intention and magic.
I’m not trained in cacao ceremonies, nor do I claim to be an expert. I’m simply someone who has fallen deeply in love with this plant medicine and the way it brings people together.
Today, I want to share a little about why cacao ceremonies are so special, my experience hosting the beautiful Abby Rashman in my healing studio, and the heartfelt breakfast ritual I created for my daughters.
Grab your favourite mug, cosy up, and let’s talk about cacao.
What Is Cacao & Why Is It Sacred?
Ceremonial cacao isn’t your average hot chocolate. Sourced from ancient heirloom strains, ethically harvested, and minimally processed, it retains all its natural goodness—rich in antioxidants, magnesium, and theobromine.
This compound gently stimulates the heart and mind without the jittery effects of caffeine.
But cacao’s magic goes beyond its physical benefits.
Known as the "Food of the Gods," cacao has been used ceremonially for thousands of years in indigenous cultures, particularly in Central and South America.
It’s not just a drink—it’s an invitation to slow down, set intentions, and listen to the whispers of your heart.
The Spiritual Significance of a Cacao Ceremony Ritual
🌱 Connection to Your Heart: Opens emotional pathways and fosters vulnerability.
✨ Grounding & Centring: Brings a sense of stillness and calm.
🎨 Enhanced Creativity: Sparks inspiration and clarity.
🤝 Community & Connection: Ceremonies create shared moments of trust and authenticity.
Every sip feels like a gentle reminder to honour your intentions, to listen deeply, and to simply be.
Why Attend a Cacao Ceremony Ritual?
A cacao ceremony isn’t just about drinking cacao—it’s about being present. It’s a ritual that invites you to pause, breathe deeply, and allow the sacred medicine to work its magic.
Benefits of a Cacao Ceremony:
Self-Reflection: Time to look inward and gain clarity.
Emotional Healing: Cacao can gently bring emotions to the surface for healing.
Mindful Connection: Whether alone or in a group, cacao fosters meaningful connection.
Ritualistic Calm: The simple act of preparation becomes meditative.
Whether experienced in solitude or with others, cacao ceremonies are powerful opportunities to reconnect with yourself.
A Special Visit: Abby at My Healing Studio
One of the most beautiful cacao experiences I’ve had was hosting Abby Rashman (@withlovecacao22) in my healing studio.
Abby is not only a deeply intuitive guide but also someone who has spent years immersing herself in the sacred traditions of cacao in Mexico.
From the moment Abby stepped into my studio, she transformed the space into something truly sacred—a sanctuary of rose petals, flickering candles, and soft, grounding energy.
Abby’s Self-Love Ritual Kits Include:
🌿 A cleansing sage wand
🌹 Fragrant rose petals
🍫 Handmade Mexican ceremonial cacao
📝 A beautifully written recipe card
If you’d like to experience Abby’s magic for yourself, you can find her on Instagram @withlovecacao22 and explore her ritual kits.
Bringing Ritual Home: My Breakfast Ceremony with My Daughters
One of my favourite cacao moments was a Valentine’s Day breakfast ceremony I created for my daughters. Inspired by the love and warmth cacao brings, I set a red tablecloth, scattered rose petals, lit candles, and brewed rich, ceremonial-grade cacao from Full Power Cacao.
Ingredients I Used:
Full Power Ceremonial Cacao and Oat Milk
A drop of my favourite doTERRA essential oils (Frankincense, Lavender, or Madagascan Rose)
Love and intention in every stir
We sat together, sipped our cacao, and pulled an oracle card (The Rainbow Prince made an appearance!). We laughed, shared our feelings, and soaked in the moment. The perfect loving way to start the day!
How to Create Your Own Cacao Breakfast Ritual:
Set the Space: Candles, rose petals, cosy cushions.
Prepare the Cacao: Use ceremonial-grade cacao, stir with love, and add your favourite essential oil.
Set an Intention: What do you wish to feel or release?
Savour the Moment: Sip slowly, share your thoughts, and enjoy.
It wasn’t about perfection—it was about presence.
