Hunter's Moon Evening - Full Moon Meditation & Ritual in Cheadle | 25 October 2026

An evening to slow down, reconnect with yourself and prepare for the quieter months ahead.

There's something about this time of year that makes me want to slow down.

The clocks have gone back, the evenings are getting darker, and nature is beginning to settle into its winter rhythm.

Yet somehow, we still expect ourselves to keep going at exactly the same pace.

Working, looking after everyone, juggling responsibilities, thinking about what needs doing tomorrow before we've even finished today.

And sometimes, we don't realise just how much we're carrying until we finally give ourselves permission to stop.

That's really what I want this Hunter's Moon evening to be about.

Ninety minutes where you don't need to be anywhere else, do anything for anyone else or have all the answers.

Just a little time for yourself.

What is the Hunter's Moon?

The Hunter's Moon is traditionally the full moon that follows the Harvest Moon.

Historically, this was a time when people would finish gathering and storing what they needed to see them through the winter.

The longer moonlit evenings helped people prepare for the darker months ahead.

I love the symbolism of that.

Because when we think about preparing for winter, we tend to think about practical things.

Warm clothes, food, getting the house ready.

But how often do we think about what we need emotionally?

What's been draining us?

What helps us feel grounded?

What have we already got in our lives that supports us?

And perhaps most importantly, what can we stop carrying?

This year's Hunter's Moon reaches its peak in the early hours of Monday 26 October, in the sign of Taurus.

In astrology, Taurus is associated with grounding, security, comfort and our connection to the physical world.

Whether you follow astrology or simply enjoy taking time out to reconnect with yourself, I think that's a lovely theme to explore as we move towards winter.

What happens during the evening?

If you've never been to one of my full moon evenings before, please don't worry.

You don't need any experience of meditation, astrology or rituals.

Everything is guided, and you're welcome exactly as you are.

We'll begin with approximately 30 minutes of guided meditation.

This is your opportunity to settle, relax and allow your mind and body to switch off from the outside world for a little while.

Afterwards, I'll guide you through some gentle journalling prompts inspired by the Hunter's Moon.

We'll explore what has been supporting you, what you may have outgrown and what you'd like to carry forward into the coming months.

Your journal is yours.

Nobody will ask you to read anything aloud or share anything personal.

Then we'll move into our Hunter's Moon ritual.

Our Hunter's Moon ritual - Creating a provisioning pouch

This is the part I'm particularly looking forward to.

Inspired by the tradition of gathering and storing provisions for winter, we'll each create a small pouch filled with natural ingredients and meaningful little objects.

I'll provide everything you need, including:

  • Dried rosemary, thyme and mugwort

  • Oats and barley

  • A little salt

  • Dried rosehips, small stones, coins and other tokens

  • A drawstring pouch to take home

Rather than telling you exactly what everything should represent, I'll invite you to choose the things you're naturally drawn to.

We'll then explore their traditional symbolism and what they might mean to you personally.

There isn't a right or wrong way to do this.

For me, rituals aren't about getting everything perfect.

They're about creating a moment of intention.

Sometimes doing something simple with our hands gives us the space to process things we haven't quite managed to put into words.

Before tying your pouch, you'll write down one word or intention that represents something you want to feel supported by, or something you're preparing yourself to face.

We'll tuck that intention inside and tie the pouch closed.

You'll take it home as a little reminder of the evening and the things you've chosen to carry with you into winter.

Nothing complicated.

Just something personal and meaningful.

A little time for yourself before winter

We're also approaching Samhain, traditionally celebrated at the end of October and associated with the transition into the darker half of the year.

It's a time often connected with reflection, remembrance and honouring the natural cycles of endings and beginnings.

And I think there's something very human about that.

We all go through seasons in our lives.

Some are full of growth, excitement and new beginnings.

Others ask us to slow down, recover, reassess or simply find our feet again.

We don't always have to be moving forward at full speed.

Sometimes looking after ourselves and appreciating how far we've already come is enough.

That's the feeling I'd love you to take away from this evening.

Not another thing to achieve or another version of yourself to become.

Just the opportunity to feel a little more grounded, relaxed and connected to yourself.

Who is this evening for?

Anyone who feels they'd benefit from a little time out.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, navigating changes in your life, curious about meditation or simply looking for a lovely, peaceful way to spend a Sunday evening.

You don't have to be spiritual, believe in astrology or know anything about the moon.

You can come on your own, bring a friend, or just come because something about the evening appeals to you.

We'll be a small group of no more than 20 people, so the atmosphere will be relaxed and intimate.

Everything is provided, and I'll guide you through the entire experience.
