Beaver Full Moon Evening - Meditation & Winter Ritual in Cheadle | 22 November 2026

Updated: 4 days ago

An evening of relaxation, reflection and creating a little warmth and comfort to carry into winter.

I don't know about you, but by the time November arrives, I'm quite happy to close the curtains, put the heating on and get cosy.

The evenings are darker, the weather's getting colder and Christmas seems to be approaching at an alarming rate!

And although nature is slowing down for winter, our lives don't necessarily follow suit.

There's still work to do, people to look after, Christmas to organise and a hundred other things competing for our attention.

Which is why I think this is such a lovely time of year to take an evening for ourselves.

For our final full moon gathering of 2026, we're taking inspiration from the Beaver Moon and the idea of creating somewhere warm, safe and comforting to retreat to when the outside world gets a bit much.

We'll enjoy a guided meditation, some gentle journalling and two beautiful little rituals, including making our own beeswax candle and a nine-knot intention cord to take home.

Ninety minutes to relax, recharge and prepare for the winter months ahead.

What is the Beaver Moon?

I've always been fascinated by the full moon.

I couldn't really tell you why.

There's just something about it that I've always felt drawn to, and I love the opportunity each month brings to stop, reflect and reconnect with ourselves.

November's full moon is traditionally known as the Beaver Moon.

The name is associated with the time of year when beavers prepare for winter, strengthening their dams and lodges and making sure they have what they need to survive the colder months.

I rather like that idea.

Because we spend so much of our lives looking after everything and everybody else, but how often do we stop to think about what makes us feel safe, comfortable and supported?

And I'm not necessarily talking about our homes.

I'm talking about the things that help us feel settled within ourselves.

The people we can be ourselves around.

The routines that make us feel good.

The little things that bring us comfort when life feels a bit overwhelming.

The Beaver Moon is a lovely reminder that taking care of ourselves isn't something we should only think about when we're exhausted.

It's something we can build into everyday life.

This year's Beaver Moon reaches its peak on Tuesday 24 November, two days after our gathering on Sunday 22 November.

What happens during the evening?

If you've never joined one of my full moon evenings before, please don't worry.

You don't need to know anything about meditation, astrology or moon rituals.

There's no expectation to share anything personal, and you certainly don't have to be spiritual to enjoy the experience.

We'll begin with approximately 30 minutes of guided meditation.

I'll invite you to imagine your own winter lodge.

Somewhere that feels completely safe, warm and peaceful.

It might be a little cabin tucked away in the woods, a beautiful room with a roaring fire, or somewhere entirely different.

It's your space, so you get to create it however you like.

During the meditation, we'll explore what helps you feel grounded and supported, and what you'd like to make more room for in your life over the winter months.

Afterwards, we'll spend some time journalling.

I'll provide some gentle prompts to help you reflect on what you've been carrying this year, what you'd like to hold on to and perhaps what you're ready to let go of.

Everything you write is completely private.

Then we'll move into our two winter rituals.

Our Beaver Moon rituals

1. Making your own beeswax candle

I absolutely love this part of the evening.

We'll each make a beautiful hand-rolled beeswax candle using natural beeswax sheets.

There's something wonderfully calming about working with your hands, particularly when you're doing something that doesn't involve a screen!

As you roll your candle, I'll invite you to think about something you'd like to bring more of into your life this winter.

Perhaps it's peace, confidence, patience, connection or simply a bit more time for yourself.

We'll leave our candles unlit during the evening so you can take yours home and light it whenever you feel the need for a quiet moment.

It might be on a dark December evening, while you're enjoying a cup of tea, or simply when you fancy a little time to yourself.

A small reminder of the intention you made.

2. Creating a nine-knot intention cord

Our second ritual is creating a nine-knot intention cord.

Using a length of cord, we'll slowly tie nine knots, with each knot representing something we'd like to nurture, strengthen or invite into our lives.

I've chosen nine intentions to inspire you:

  • Stability

  • Patience

  • Abundance

  • Health

  • Love

  • Safety

  • Focus

  • Rest

  • Remembrance

You can use these or choose your own.

There's no right or wrong way to do it, and you don't need to come with nine perfectly formed intentions.

We'll take our time, and I'll guide you through the whole process.

You'll then take your cord home along with your beeswax candle.

Two little reminders of the evening and the things you'd like to carry with you into winter.

A little warmth for the darker months

There's another reason November feels like an important time to pause.

For some people, the approach of Christmas is exciting.

For others, it can bring a mixture of emotions.

You might be looking forward to spending time with family, feeling a little overwhelmed by everything you've got to organise, or approaching a season that looks very different from previous years.

And sometimes it's a bit of everything.

I think it's important that we make room for all of those feelings.

You don't have to arrive feeling positive, peaceful or particularly organised.

You can just come as you are.

This will also be our final full moon evening of 2026, as we'll be taking a break during December before returning in January.

So I'd love this gathering to feel especially cosy.

A warm studio, soft lighting, a lovely group of people and a couple of hours (well, an hour and a half!) where nobody needs anything from you.

Just an opportunity to unwind and do something lovely for yourself.

Who is this evening for?

Anyone who'd enjoy some time out from everyday life.

You might be curious about meditation, interested in moon rituals or simply looking for something a little different to do on a Sunday evening.

You can come on your own or bring a friend.

Everything is guided and all the materials are provided, so you don't need to bring any experience, special equipment or knowledge with you.

Our evenings are intentionally small, with a maximum of 20 people, which helps keep the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming.

If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'd love to welcome you to our final full moon evening of 2026.

With love,
